PaxFlow, a vertical SaaS startup empowering tour operators to automate and streamline labor-intensive operations, receives a $2.2 million seed round from Brunnur Ventures
Icelandic travel tech company, Paxflow, has closed a $2.2 million seed round from Brunnur Ventures, a leading Icelandic venture capital firm. Proceeds from the funding will enable PaxFlow to accelerate its product development and fuel international sales- and marketing efforts.
PaxFlow’s vertically integrated SaaS solution empowers tour operators to streamline their operations and automate workflows by providing user-friendly no-code tools integrated with all major booking platforms. Once tour operators start automating their manual workflows using PaxFlow, the company adds a layer of AI-powered smart recommendations for further optimization.
Booking a tour online today is easy, with a countless number of tour operators and resellers around the world. However, once the booking has taken place, a surprisingly complex and manual process takes over for most operators. This process – currently often powered by complex Excel sheets, customer service agents, emails, and calendar apps – includes emailing back and forth with clients, rescheduling due to cancelations, managing inventory of vehicles, shift-scheduling for guides, software for driver-guides, passenger lists, and so much more. This process relies heavily on labor-intensive manual processes, is expensive and can be prone to mistakes and miscommunication.
Tour operators in the world are estimated to be around one million according to Arrival, a leading travel industry research firm. Most of them don’t have a tailored software solution for running critical parts of their businesses. With its innovative self-service solutions, PaxFlows aims to solve the operational headache for tour and activity providers.
“PaxFlow’s beta software has already been used by companies servicing travelers from over 100 countries, and is currently being tested by hundreds of operators worldwide. We are thrilled to join forces with Brunnur Ventures to further accelerate our journey to empower tour operators who want to optimize their operations and cut costs at the same time.” says Soffia Kristin Thordardottir, founder and CEO of PaxFlow.
